Twin River Casino, 100 Twin River Road, Lincoln, hosts “Cocktails for A Cause,” an evening of music, raffles, appetizers and cocktails poured by celebrity bartenders in an effort to raise money for victims of Hurricane Harvey in Texas and Hurricane Irma in Florida. All ages event. Celebrity bartenders include Speaker of the House Nicholas Mattiello; Senate President Dominick Ruggerio; House Majority Leader Joseph Shekarchi; Senate Majority Whip Mary Ellen Goodwin; Senate Majority Leader Michael McCaffrey, "Rhode Show" host Michaela Johnson; former football greats Steve DeOssie and Fred Smerlas of Fred & Steve’s Steakhouse; president & CEO of the Rhode Island Hospitality Association Dale Venturini; AFL-CIO president George Nee; Rhode Island Building and Construction Trades Council president Michael Sabitoni and Jonathan “The Cocktail Guru” Pogash. hosted by the Providence County Hiking Club and Blackstone Heritage Corridor. Hikers will meet at the first parking lot of the Cumberland Monastery on Diamond Hill Road. Registration is at 6:45 p.m. and the hike starts at 7 p.m. The hike will be approximately two miles and is suitable for children. Participants should bring battery powered flashlights or lanterns.
