Children 6 and older are invited to read to Daisy, a certified therapy dog. She and her owner, Arlene Atkins, have completed training with D.J. Professional Pet Assisted Therapy Program. To set up a 10-minute appointment for your child to read, between 5 and 7 p.m., call the children’s room at 401-333-2422, ext.15. Registration required. Arrive early to choose a book to read to Daisy. Also on Tuesday, July 24, and Thursday, Aug. 2.

at Glocester Manton Public Library, 1137 Putnam Pike, Chepachet. Hosted by The Rhode Island Department of Environmental Management. Instruction on freshwater angling will be included, and all equipment and materials will be provided. Participants are welcome to bring their own materials, if they prefer.
