East Blackstone Quaker Meeting House hosts Veteran’s Day observance Sunday

BLACKSTONE – On Sunday, Nov. 11, at 2 p.m., the East Blackstone Quaker Meeting House Association, 197 Elm St., will recognize Veteran’s Day with a program to include patriotic music selections performed by the Slatersville Congregational Church Choir.

In November 1919, President Woodrow Wilson proclaimed Nov. 11th ‘Armistice Day, Although initially intended to honor veterans of World War I, following World War II, Nov. 11, became a day to honor American veterans of all wars.

This year marks the 100th anniversary of the end of World War I.
