OCYL registering now for fall STEAMshop

CUMBERLAND – The Mayor’s Office of Children, Youth and Learning is accepting registrations for fall classes and workshops.

The STEAMshop programs at OCYL offer student-centered learning opportunities, in which students in grades K-8 are empowered to use their natural curiosity to ask questions and solve problems.

Parents must register their child at least a week before program begins.

OCYL’s STEAMshop schedule is:

• Chess on Thursdays, 5, 6, and 7 p.m.

• Coding Club on Tuesdays, 6 p.m.

• Creation Lab on Mondays, 6 p.m.

• Design Time on Wednesdays, 2:30 p.m. (with busing available from Cumberland middle schools)

• Robotics on Fridays, 4:30 p.m.

• Private Music Lessons on Thursdays between 5-7:30 p.m.

• Small Group Guitar on Wednesdays, 4:30 and 5:30 p.m.

Visit the website www.ocyl.org for more information, including pricing, and to register.

Also, the popular Saturday Open STEAMshop is returning this fall, with the first session on Sept. 30 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. This Open STEAMshop is free due to the generous sponsorship of Dassault Systemes. Registration is recommended as space is limited.

OCYL is located behind the Cumberland Public Library at 1464 Diamond Hill Road, Suite 2. Call 401-475-0929 or email main.ocyl@gmail.com .
