Pawtucket Library celebrating Banned Books Week by showing film adaptations

PAWTUCKET – Come to the Pawtucket Public Library, 13 Summer St., to view free screenings of three films adapted from books that have been challenged or banned from libraries and classrooms. Showings will be Mondays, Sept. 18 and 25, starting at 1 p.m. in the Campbell Auditorium.

The library presents this series as part of its celebration of the freedom to read during Banned Books Week, Sept. 24-30. The movies will include “The Kite Runner,” Sept. 18; and “To Kill a Mockingbird,” Sept. 25. A display of banned books will be featured near the library’s main entrance during Banned Books Week.
